Like many innovations, this product was based on good, old-fashion need. While serving a two-year term in Russia, an American Peace Corps business volunteer, Olin Lagon, quickly found Russian verbs extremely difficult to work with, and searched the Internet for potential solutions to help. Aside from books that offer conjugations, nothing electronic fit his need perfectly. This problem/opportunity laid at the back of his mind.
While teaching entrepreneurship and computer programming, he came up with the idea for this project to help further the development of his adopted community – Take some motivated students, help them launch a company that meets a real need, guide them towards a successful launch, and then let the creativity and unshakable optimism of youth propel the company to wherever they want to go. Moreover, the project gives locals the chance to help locals by channeling a full fifty-one percent into a locally-managed fund that directly benefits the community.
Now Verbioso is up and running, optimistic that it fits an important and yet unmet niche, and committed to creating unique tools that uniquely deliver value.
